This Monday, 2/4/12, I woke up and went to my PC to check my messages, tweets and Facebook posts. One of the messages that I’ve read took me by surprise that my good friend, Dave Mackey, has started treatment for prostate cancer. I wasn’t aware that he had been diagnosed until then, and that is what got me both acting brave and being scared to death.
Being brave is facing a bat who had flown into your house. Being scared is yelling out loud and scaring the bat to where it’ll harm you.
This isn’t the first time that cancer struck Dave’s family. His twin brother, Bob, had battle leukemia in the past, and won and even breast cancer took Dave’s first wife, Tracy, who was an elementary school special education teacher, on 10/1/05.
My thought and prayers goes out to Dave and his family has they continue to march on despite the cancer. Get well soon, Dave.
